First pile of the home grown #cucumbers, pickled three ways.
Gave these a hot water bath using bamboo skewers to hold the glasses off the bottom of the pot, so hopefully they’ll last well out of the fridge.
I’ll be able to experiment more soon - drowning in cucumbers!

Honeyed, candied #kumquats.
Half a cup of water a cup of sugar (replace up to half with honey), a couple of handfuls of kumquats, halved or quartered and seeds removed.
Dissolve sugar, add kumquats, boil for about 30 minutes, then bottle in sterilized jars. For longer life, use a water bath. Keep opened jars in the fridge.
Use in desserts, salads, and for a sweet marinade or cooking sauce for meat or fish.
